Bridge removal project to begin next week at Cadiz
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Monday, November 16, 2015) – Work will begin next Monday, November 23rd, to remove the Township Road 243 bridge over U.S. Route 22 near Cadiz in Harrison County.
The structure is located between the intersections of U.S. 22/SR 9 and U.S. 22/U.S. 250.
One, 12-foot lane will be maintained in each direction on U.S. 22 except for brief, 15 minute closures during bridge demolition.
When completed, TR 243 will be relocated to intersect with Dennison Avenue north of U.S. 22 and include a cul-de-sac south of U.S. 22. Work also includes installation of a new storm sewer on the north side of Dennison Avenue.
ODOT’s contractor for this $1.5 million project is the Beaver Excavating Company, from Canton, Ohio, and the completion is mid-October 2016.
