State Route 7 to be Restricted Tomorrow in Steubenville for Filming of "Unstoppable"
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) -- State Route 7 will be restricted tomorrow during daylight hours between South Street and Dock Street in the city of Steubenville, Jefferson County, for filming of the major motion picture "Unstoppable."
Both north and southbound traffic will be stopped in 15 minute increments to allow for filming. Law enforcement officers will assist with traffic control.
SR 7 is likely to experience continuous traffic disruptions throughout the day; therefore, motorists are urged to use alternate routes to avoid delays.
All filming impacting Ohio Valley roadways should be completed by the end of the day tomorrow.
"Unstoppable" stars Academy Award winner Denzel Washington and Chris Pine, who are trying to stop a runaway train filled with toxic chemicals that is on a collision course with a town. Scenes for the movie have been filmed in and around the Ohio Valley area since the beginning of November.
ODOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN for the "Cone Zone;" turn on headlights and drive carefully in work zones. Drive responsibly for your safety and the safety of the highway workers. Remember, fines in work zones are doubled for not obeying traffic signs. Minimize distractions – turn OFF cell phones in construction zones. Remember to always buckle up.
