ODOT seeks comments on proposed Interstate 470 and State Route 7 intersection improvement project
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Thursday, December 11, 2014) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is seeking comments on a proposed project (PID 99087) to improve the safety and reduce congestion at the intersection of Interstate 470 and State Route 7 near Dilles Bottom between Martins Ferry and Bellaire in Belmont County.
The proposed project will:
· Signalize the SR 7/I-470 intersection
· Add a combined through/left-turn lane to the northbound SR 7 to I-470 movement
· And, add a right-turn lane to the southbound SR 7 to I-470 movement
No new right of way will be required to complete the proposed work. Construction is anticipated to begin late next summer. Traffic will be maintained, using part width construction techniques.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental, and economic impacts of these proposed projects. Environmental impacts include those associated with historical archeological or architectural resources, ecological resources, hazardous materials, and/or any general concerns regarding the projects.
