ODOT seeks comments on proposed intersection improvement project
New Philadelphia, Ohio (Thursday, December 11, 2014) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11 is seeking comments on a proposed intersection improvement project (PID 97185) at State Routes 43 and SR 183 in Brown Township, Carroll County.
The proposed project includes constructing an exclusive northbound right-turn lane on SR 43 and reconstructing the traffic island on Coral Road. The project will also include the replacement of the traffic signals and highway lighting. New warning signs, guardrail, and pavement markings will also be provided.
Construction is anticipated to begin in the spring of 2016. Traffic will be maintained during construction. Minor new right of way will be needed to complete the project; however, no residential or business relocations will be required.
ODOT is seeking comments from the public about the social, environmental, and economic impacts of these proposed projects. Environmental impacts include those associated with historical archeological or architectural resources, ecological resources, hazardous materials, and/or any general concerns regarding the projects.
