MEDIA ALERT UPDATE
STATE HIGHWAYS REMAIN CLOSED DUE TO HIGH WATER
(NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO) --Due to the recent heavy rains, multiple state highways in east-central Ohio continue to have high water or flood conditions, and some remain closed for the safety of motorists. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 11, which includes Belmont, Carroll, Columbiana, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, and Tuscarawas counties, provides the following state road closure updates:
SR 212, Carroll County
Closed between Sherrodsville and Leesville.
SR 164, Carroll County
Restricted between Leesville and new Hagerstown.
SR 154, Columbiana County
Closed near Elkton.
SR 151, Harrison County
Closed just east of L.J. Smith near Conotton.
SR 799, Harrison County
Restricted near Clendening Lake.
SR 520, Holmes County
Restricted between Glenmont and U.S. 62 in two places.
SR 60, Holmes County
Closed north of Killbuck and restricted south of Killbuck.
SR 83, Holmes County
Restricted just north of Holmesville in two places.
U.S. 62, Holmes County
Closed just west of SR 83 and east of Killbuck. U.S. 62 is also restricted at Township Road 31.
SR 7, Jefferson County
Southbound travel lane remains closed just south of Empire due to mudslide. One lane southbound remains open. Northbound lanes are not affected.
SR 258, Tuscarawas County
Closed between Stillwater and West Chester.
SR 800, Tuscarawas County
Closed between Stillwater and Dennison.
SR 93, Tuscarawas County
Closed north of Dundee.
No official detours are posted. All roadways will be reopened as soon as possible. ODOT continues to urge motorists to use caution when driving near high water. For a complete listing of road closures and restrictions due to high water and flooding, visit www.BuckeyeTraffic.org.
