Innerbelt Update

Attention Commuters:  Be on the lookout for important traffic information for the I-90/E 9th Street area for next weekend. There will be traffic impacts overnight on Friday, February 24 in the area. We’ll maintain access to all your favorite Gateway destinations, but you can plan ahead if you KNO B4 U GO!  We plan to post the traffic plan on Wednesday, February 22 for the traffic closures on Friday night into Saturday.  Log-on to www.Innerbelt.org often for updates.

Tremont Impacts:
  • Kenilworth Avenue will remain closed through the week of February 20, reopening by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 24.
  • On Monday, February 20, crews will reopen the W 14th Street exit ramp from I-90 west, before 3 p.m.  As soon as the W 14th Street ramp is open, the Abbey Loop ramp will be closed. The Loop ramp will remain closed until the new Innerbelt Bridge with a new Abbey Loop ramp is open, late in 2013. Detour signs will be posted to direct motorists to Abbey Avenue from the W 14th Street ramp.  Click here for an informative graphic that shows the detour and includes a map of the area.
Gateway Impacts:
  • On Monday and Tuesday, February 20 and 21, the E 9th Street entrance ramp to I-90 west will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day, to shift the traffic lanes on the ramp to the south and install concrete barriers.  Motorists may detour via I-77 south to I-490 west to reach I-90. Motorists bound for Tremont or Ohio City may use the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge. The Ontario entrance ramp to I-90 west will remain open.
