Additional traffic pattern changes at I-271/Mayfield Road interchange
Mayfield Heights

Garfield Heights (May 7, 2009, 1:46 PM)Beginning Monday, May 11, 2009 crews will implement additional changes to the traffic pattern at the I-271/Mayfield Road interchange.

On Monday, May 11 crews will close the Mayfield Road westbound ramps to both I-271 north and southbound.  Motorist may detour via Wilson Mills or Brainard Roads.  Detours will be posted.

The I-271 north and southbound exit ramps to Mayfield Road westbound only are currently detoured via the Mayfield Road eastbound exits.  Signal modifications allow left hand turns at these intersections to permit traffic to enter Mayfield Road in both the east and westbound directions.

Motorists are encouraged to be aware of shifting traffic patterns and follow all construction signage as indicated.

Shifted traffic patterns will remain in effect until approximately late July/early August, 2009.

Construction takes place on the north side of Mayfield Road between Golden Gate Plaza and Wal-Mart Drive.  Two lanes of traffic in each direction are maintained on the south side of Mayfield Road.

The entire three-year project widens a portion and reconstructs Mayfield Road between Lander Road and the eastern Mayfield Heights Corp. limit and is expected to be complete in September of  2009.

All dates and times are approximate and weather dependent.  For statewide construction and road condition information visit www.BuckeyeTraffic.org.
