Attention Commuters!!

Important downtown traffic changes are ready to be implemented. Beginning next week, the Innerbelt Bridge project team will be restricting traffic on I-90 from three (3) lanes to two (2) lanes in each direction.

Along with these lane closures there will also be access changes along the downtown corridor. There are also some additional Interstate changes that will make using the Alternate Route via I-490 and I-77 more desireable. Gateway Impacts

• Motorists will no longer be able to access Carnegie Avenue from I-90 eastbound. Motorists will still be able to access Carnegie Avenue using the alternate route via I-77.

• The E 30th Street/Woodland ramp to I-77 NB is now closed to allow better Interstate traffic flow into downtown. Motorists will be directed via Woodland, E 22nd and Prospect to I-90 east.
• I-71 northbound will be restricted to one lane north of SR 176 (the Jennings Freeway). The ramp from I-71/SR 176 (the Jennings Freeway) will be widened to allow for an extra lane of traffic to I-90 west and I-490 east to I-90 east.
• The I-490 westbound ramp to I-77 northbound will be closed to allow free-flow of traffic on the ramp from I-490 east to I-77 north. Motorists will be detoured via W 7th Street.
• Motorists will not have direct access to I-71 north or I-90 east from SR 176 (the Jennings Freeway). Motorists will instead be directed to I-490 eastbound to I-77 northbound to I-90 eastbound.

The changes that must be implemented will take place over several nights next week (Tuesday through Saturday). Details will be forthcoming!
