Bridge Work to Begin Monday, March 4 on West 25th Street over I-71
Traffic will be maintained on West 25th Street
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Tuesday, February 26, 2013) – A project to replace the West 25th Street bridge deck over I-71 is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 4. Crews will close the left lane in each direction on West 25th Street over I-71 daily from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in order to perform preliminary work prior to shifting traffic.
During the week of March 11, crews will restrict West 25th Street over I-71 to one lane in each direction through mid-July 2013.
In mid-July crews anticipate being able to shift traffic to the new bridge deck and maintain two northbound lanes and one southbound lane on West 25th Street over I-71 through spring 2014.
Also during the week of March 11, crews will close the southbound West 25th Street entrance ramp to I-71 northbound. This ramp will remain closed through spring 2014. Motorists will be detoured south on West 25th Street to Denison Avenue to SR 176 northbound/I-71 northbound.
Patrons to Metro Health Hospital will have access to the hospital. Fire, EMS and other emergency service crews will be permitted to use the entrance ramp.
Overnight lane closures on I-71 north and southbound are expected during demolition of the bridge deck.
