Cleveland: Community College Avenue Resurfacing to Begin July 6
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Wednesday, June 24, 2015) – On Monday, July 6, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) in coordination with the city of Cleveland and NOACA will begin a $1.5 million project to resurface Community College Avenue between East 22nd and East 40th Streets in the city of Cleveland.
Crews will begin the project in the portion between East 22nd and East 30th Streets. During this time traffic will be moved to one half of the roadway and will be maintained with one lane in each direction as crews work on the other half. Work on this portion is the project is expected to be complete in September.
After September, crews will begin work in the portion between East 30th and East 40th Streets. During this phase, eastbound traffic will be maintained however westbound traffic will be detoured via Central Avenue (see map at left). This will continue through completion of the project in the fall.
Crews will typically work Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. however may work until 7 p.m. and on weekends if needed. All work is expected to be complete this fall.
The entire project resurfaces Community College Avenue between East 22nd and East 40th Streets and includes new sidewalks, curb ramps and pavement markings. New pavement markings will include modified parking and biking facilities.
This city of Cleveland project is funded through the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) with construction administration by ODOT.
