Cleveland: West 140th Street Bridge over I-71 Closure Extended
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Wednesday, August 12, 2015) – Due to unforeseen construction issues, the West 140th Street bridge over I-71 between St. James Avenue and Harold Avenue on Cleveland’s west side will remain closed through mid-September 2015.
Since May 26th, the West 140th Street Bridge over I-71 has been closed for bridge deck replacement operations.
Motorists will be detoured via Puritas Avenue, West 150th Street and Lorain Avenue.
On Monday, August 17, the bridge is expected to open to pedestrian traffic. Until then, pedestrians will be detoured via West 143rd Street.
In addition, Harold Avenue remains closed at West 140th Street until mid-September for work on the West 140th Street bridge. Motorists are detoured via Sherry Avenue and West 137th Street.
