GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Thursday, April 4, 2019) - Below is a quick overview of the Ohio Department of Transportation
(ODOT) projects with updated lane closures and restrictions starting tonight
through Thursday, April 4. Click here to see a complete list of active
ODOT construction projects.
I-77 Exit Ramp to State Route 21,
April 15, crews will close the I-77
southbound ramp to SR21/Brecksville Rd. for 100 days. Motorists will be
detoured via I-77 south, I-480 and SR 17. This entire project will replace the
I-77 southbound exit ramp bridge to SR 21 in Cuyahoga Heights. Tentative completion date: June 2019.
I-90 over E. 185th
St., Neff Rd. and E. 200th St., Cleveland
Monday, April 8, through fall 2019 I-90 westbound
between East 222nd and East 185th will have various lane restrictions.
Monday, April 15, through late May 2019 I-90
westbound between East 222nd and East 185th will be shifted
to the left.
East 185th Street northbound entrance ramp to I-90 west, East 200th Street entrance
ramp to I-90 westbound and I-90 westbound exit ramp to East 185th Street will
remain closed. Detours can be found at this link.
The entire project will replace the bridge decks of three mainline bridges on
I-90 over E. 185th St., Neff Rd. and E. 200th St. in the
city of Cleveland. Speeds will be reduced while construction workers are present utilizing Variable Speed Limit signs. Tentative
completion date: October 2019.
*UPDATED* I-480 east lane
reconfiguration, Cleveland, Maple Hts. and Warrensville Hts.
April 4 and Friday, April 5, crews will close
the left lane of I-480 eastbound between Northfield Rd. and Rockside Rd. from 9
a.m. to 3 p.m. for paving operations. Overnight, Wednesday, April 10, crews
will close the left lane of I-271
southbound between Rockside Rd. and Solon Rd. from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. for
striping operations. Also, overnight Wednesday,
crews will close the right lane of I-480
eastbound between Northfield Rd. and Rockside Rd. for pavement marking
operations from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. This project added a lane and
provides three lanes of traffic to continue on I-480 past the I-271 split in
the cities of Warrensville Hts., Maple Hts. and Cleveland. Tentative completion date: Spring 2019.
View Bridge Deck Replacement, Garfield Heights and Independence
Friday, April 5, crews will close the left two lanes of I-480 eastbound at
the Valley View bridge from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for pavement marking
operations. Overnight Saturday, April 6 and into Sunday, April 7, crews will perform
rolling lane closures on I-480 eastbound at the Valley View bridge from 4 p.m.
to noon for pavement marking operations. All traffic on I-480 east -
leading up to and across the Valley View Bridge - will be shifted to the right
through late-2020 when construction of the new bridge and complete and all
eastbound traffic is shifted onto the new bridge. Crews are actively working to
construct the new center bridge, which is expected to be complete in late-2020.
The entire project constructs a new bridge between
the two existing Valley View bridges and replaces the decks of the I-480 east
and westbound Valley View bridges. To learn more about the project click here.

Harvard Ave. Bridge over I-77,
Newburgh Heights and Cuyahoga Heights
Monday, April 1 through Sunday, April 7, crews will close various lanes of I-77 north and southbound at Harvard Ave. from 8
p.m. to 5 a.m. Harvard Ave. bridge over I-77 is closed for 180 days. Eastbound Harvard Ave. motorists will be
detoured via I-77 southbound to Grant Ave. to I-77 northbound to Harvard Ave.
Westbound Harvard Ave. motorists will be detoured via I-77 northbound to
Pershing Ave. to I-77 southbound to Harvard Ave. The entire project
replaces the Harvard Ave. bridge over I-77, including sidewalks, signal
upgrades and more. Tentative completion:
