Daily Closures of SR 535 Bridge over the Grand River Begin January 12th
Closures will take place daily for five consecutive days for bridge beam installation
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Wednesday, December 31, 2014) – Daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day beginning January 12 through January 16, 2015, crews working on the SR 535 over the Grand River in Fairport Harbor will close the bridge for bridge beam erection work.
During the closure traffic will be detoured via Sanford Street, Skinner Avenue, St. Clair Street and East Street (SR 535). Access to Windjammer Court will be maintained.
The closures must be performed during the daylight hours due to the proximity of overhead wires near the bridge.
When the bridge reopens at the end of each workday, traffic will once again be maintained with one lane of two-way traffic utilizing temporary traffic signals.
At the completion of this bridge beam erection work, traffic will be continue to be maintained with one lane of two-way traffic utilizing temporary traffic signals.
The entire project replaces the SR 535 bridge over the Grand River and is expected to be complete in October 2015.
