Emergency Slope and Drainage Repair Work Requires Lane Closure
One lane to close on I-480 westbound over I-271 northbound
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Thursday, October 27, 2011) – Beginning tomorrow, Friday, October 28, crews on behalf of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will close one lane on the I-480 westbound ramp over I-271 northbound at 9 a.m. for approximately two weeks in order to perform emergency slope and drainage repair. Only one lane will be accessible during this work. Rush hour delays are expected.
The lane closure is necessary to give crews the proper amount of space to perform excavation and catch basin installation operations to improve drainage in the area.
Simultaneously, crews will be shifting the lane on the I-480 westbound ramp to I-77 southbound to the shoulder for approximately two weeks to complete emergency slope and drainage repairs.
Once again, crews will perform excavation and catch basin installation operations to improve drainage in the area.
Work at both locations will eliminate flooding issues and concerns that have occurred in recent weeks. Crews will work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
