Geauga County: U.S. 322 to Closure between County Line and Caves Road Postponed to May 23
Forty-day closure necessary for culvert replacement work in Chester Township
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Wednesday, May 18, 2016) – The U.S. 322 closure between County Line and Caves Road has been postponed to Monday, May 23.
Beginning Monday, May 23, crews on behalf of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will close U.S. 322 (Mayfield Road) east and westbound between County Line Road and Caves Road for approximately 40 days in order to perform culvert replacement operations.
Local traffic will be detoured via County Line Road, Wilson Mills Road and Caves Road. Truck traffic will be detoured via SR 91 (SOM Center Road), U.S. 6 (Euclid-Chardon Road) and SR 306 (Chillicothe Road).
During the first week of the closure, residential traffic in the affected area will have access from the west end of the work zone at County Line Road.
For the reminder of the closure, residential traffic in the affected area will have access from the east end at Caves Road.
Residents with access to their street via Cedar Road are encouraged to use Ceder Road to avoid the closure on Mayfield Road.
Emergency vehicles will have access through the affected area at all times.
Upon completion of the culvert work in mid-June, crews will perform resurfacing operations between County Line Road and Heath Road daily Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Traffic will be maintained utilizing flaggers.
