Helpful tips to get “Back to Campus" with ease this year!
CLEVELAND (Tuesday, August 18, 2015) – As students return to the campuses of Cleveland State University and Cuyahoga Community College next week, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has some helpful tips to get “Back to Campus" with ease this year!
With more than 20,000 students returning to CSU and Tri-C’s Downtown campuses, some students and faculty may be unfamiliar with recent traffic changes in Cleveland.
Motorists are reminded to visit www.Ohgo.com for the up-to-the minute traffic conditions and live traffic cameras. While many Downtown impacts remain in place due to construction of the George V. Voinovich Bridge, some new projects are also taking place. Those include:
Prospect Avenue Resurfacing: Lanes are reduces between Ontario & East 22nd Streets. More here.
East 22nd Street Resurfacing & Streetscape: Lanes are reduced between Orange & Euclid Avenues. More here. Community College Resurfacing: Lanes are reduced between East 22nd and 30th Streets. Later this fall crews will work on the portion between East 30th and 40th Streets. More here.
Motorists who will be traveling into and around downtown Cleveland as they head back to campus are reminded to Opt for the Alternate! and use I-490 and I-77 to avoid GVV Bridge construction. Students, faculty and motorists alike are reminded to observe reduced speed limits in work zones, be alert for changing conditions and allow extra time to enter and exit Downtown Cleveland. Construction activities can result in daily changes within work zones.
