GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Thursday, August 9, 2018) - On Friday, August 10 at 9 p.m., crews will close both the Miles Rd. and U.S. 422
entrance ramps to I-271 southbound through 8 p.m. Saturday, August 11.
Motorists will be detoured via I-480 west to Miles Rd. to Northfield Rd. to
Rockside Rd. to enter I-271 south.
Additionally, at 9 p.m. the right lane of I-271 southbound will close at Miles Rd. and all I-271
southbound thru traffic will be directed into the left contraflow lane through 5
a.m. (corrected from 5 p.m.) Saturday, August 11. There is no access to Rockside Rd or
Broadway-Forbes exits from the contraflow lane. Motorists will be detoured via
I-271 south to SR 82 or use I-480 west to Miles Rd. to southbound Northfield
Rd. to access Rockside Rd. and Forbes Rd.
As traffic shift operations continue, the I-271 southbound exit ramp to Rockside Rd.
will remain closed through 8 p.m. Saturday, August 11.
Following a traffic shift this weekend, the Miles Rd.
entrance ramp to I-271 south will have their own dedicated lane which will
eliminate the current merge configuration in place and provide two thru lanes
on I-271 southbound (excluding the far-left contraflow lane) between Miles Rd.
and Rockside Rd.
