I-271 Express Lanes Partial Closure To Begin Wednesday Morning

Garfield Heights, Ohio (Tuesday, July 13, 2010) – Beginning tomorrow – Wednesday, July 14 – the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Shelly Company of Twinsburg will begin a project to resurface the I-271 Express Lanes between U.S. 322 (Mayfield Road) and Interstate 90 in the Cities of Mayfield Heights, Mayfield and Willoughby Hills.
Beginning on Wednesday at 9 a.m. – following the morning rush hour – crews will close the I-271 southbound Express Lanes between I-90 and White Road until approximately early August 2010 as crews work to resurface the southbound Express Lanes. Temporary single-lane closures on the I-271 southbound Local Lanes are expected, however impacts to rush hour traffic are not expected.
The I-271 northbound Express Lanes will remain open along with the I-271 north and southbound Local Lanes.
Once the southbound resurfacing is complete, crews will close the northbound Express Lanes and begin milling and paving. Details will be forthcoming.
The entire project is scheduled to be complete on, or around, October 15, 2010.
