Innerbelt Update
 
This Saturday is shaping-up to be a very busy work day in CLE!  Allow extra time to your downtown destinations this weekend and make sure to follow the posted detour signage.  We appreciate your patience as we construct this vital span that will enhance capacity, provide jobs and help bolster our economy. 
 
Regional Interstate Impacts:
  • Saturday, November 5, I-90 east will be closed between I-490 and I-77 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Use I-490 east to I-77 north.
  • Saturday, November 5, the ramp from I-90 west to I-77 south will be restricted from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and closed from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Use I-71 south to SR 176 south to I-480 east to I-77.
  • Beginning Saturday, November 5, the Ontario ramp to I-77 south will be closed from 7 a.m. Saturday until 6 p.m. on Sunday. Motorists on Ontario can continue south onto Orange Avenue and access I-77 south at the E 30th Street ramp.
  • Saturday, November 5, there will be a lane restriction on I-71 south at the I-90 split from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Monday-Friday, November 7-11, the ramp from I-90 west to I-77 south will have lane restrictions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, November 8-10, I-90 east will be closed between I-490 and I-77 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Use I-490 east to I-77 north.
Gateway Impacts:
  • Saturday, November 5, both E 9th and E 14th Streets under I-90 will be closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.  The ramp from E 9th Street to I-77 south will remain open.
  • Monday through Friday, November 7-11, E 9th Street and E 14th Street will have lane restrictions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tremont Impacts:
  • Saturday, November 5, the ramp from W 14th Street to I-90 east will be closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists can travel west on Abbey Avenue, north on W 20th Street and east on the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge.
  • Monday through Saturday, November 7-12, Starkweather Avenue will have alternating one-way traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, November 8-10, the ramp from W 14th Street to I-90 east will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists can travel west on Abbey Avenue, north on W 20th Street and east on the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge.
Notice of Upcoming Work: Nighttime pile driving will begin after November 7.  This nearly round-the-clock work will take about three weeks – as opposed to six or more!  For more info, check out our FAQs.
