Welcome Back Commuters! Crews are busy this winter reconstructing the outdated I-90 west overpass over Kenilworth Avenue in the Tremont area. Next week, please expect the following closures:
We appreciate your patience as we continue work on this very important project which is vital to the success of moving people in and out of downtown Cleveland now and in the future.
- As of Tuesday, January 3, Kenilworth Avenue is closed under I-90 in order to begin work to replace the I-90 west bridge over Kenilworth. The closure will continue through the weekend into the week of January 9. Both Starkweather and Fairfield Avenues will remain open for use.
- Motorists should expect additional closures of Kenilworth Avenue as demolition and other work takes place. Details will be forthcoming. Please visit Innerbelt.org for the latest.
- Tremont visitors and residents should also note that the Kenilworth Avenue sidewalks in both directions will remain closed through the winter months as the I-90 west bridge over Kenilworth is replaced. Pedestrians must use Starkweather and Fairfield Avenues. It is not safe to cut through the work zone, even if workers are not present!
