I-90 Eastbound Bridge over I-271 Lane Closures Delayed One Week
Garfield Heights (Friday, May 28, 2010) – The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and J.D. Williamson Construction Company, Inc. have delayed the start of lane closures to replace the deck of the I-90 eastbound bridge over I-271 in the city of Willoughby Hills due to delays in securing maintenance of traffic signs.
Beginning Monday, June 7 crews will implement a one lane closure on the I-90 eastbound bridge over I-271 Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night. One lane will remain open for use. Temporary lane closures are not expected to impact rush hours.
Beginning on, or around, June 14, crews will shift ramp traffic to the left as the right side is replaced. After that time, only one lane will remain open for the duration of the project.
Crews will also close the shoulders of I-271 beneath the bridge, however minimal impacts to I-271 traffic are expected.
The entire project is expected to be complete on, or around, October 31, 2010.
