Downtown Commuters: Crews are now working to form the bridge deck on the new structures over Ontario Street near Progressive Field. Remember: Getting downtown is easy, just allow extra time to enter and exit and use alternate routes when you can – riding RTA and carpooling are also great options.
Downtown/Gateway District Impacts:
· Monday through Friday, April 15-19, Ontario Street will have lane restrictions in both directions between E 14th Street and Carnegie Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should be alert for equipment moving into and out of the work zone. The ramp from I-90 east to Ontario Street will remain open, however traffic will be shifted from the normal location.
· Monday through Thursday, April 15-18, Ontario Street will be closed between E 14th Street and Carnegie Avenue each evening between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next morning. This work will also require nightly closures of the Ontario exit from I-90 east and the Ontario ramp to I-77 south. Work will be coordinated to minimize disruption to downtown events.
· Monday, April 15 through Friday April 19, Fairfield Avenue will be closed under I-90. Motorists should use Kenilworth or Starkweather as a detour.
Ontario Street Resurfacing: The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works will begin a project to resurface Ontario Street on April 16. For more information visit: http://publicworks.cuyahogacounty.us/.
Parking Reminders for Downtown Fans: The area in front of the Western Reserve Fire Museum on Central Viaduct, and the construction zones along Canal Avenue are posted construction sites. These areas will have frequent construction activity in the coming weeks. Illegally parked vehicles are subject to towing at the vehicle owners’ expense. Please be sure you are parking in a legal parking space and not in a construction work zone.
