Innerbelt Update
 
With lots of events taking place in and around downtown, it’s sure to be busy a weekend in CLE!  Innerbelt Bridge work will not impact your weekend activities, but be on the lookout for striping operations overnight Sunday.  Also, beginning next week in Tremont, Abbey Avenue will be reduced to a single, westbound lane.  Details are below:
 
Overnight Sunday, May 20 the following restrictions will be in place as crews perform striping operations:
§   I-90 west will be closed between I-77 and I-490, from 7 p.m. to approximately 9 p.m.  Detour via I-77 south to I-490 west.
§   I-77 south will be closed between I-90 and I-490 from approximately 9 p.m. until midnight.  Detour via I-90 west to I-71/SR 176 south to I-480 east to I-77 south.
§   Between midnight and 4 a.m. crews will restripe at numerous other locations, with rolling lane closures.
 
Additional impacts to traffic for the coming week are below:
Tremont Impacts:
§   Starkweather Avenue will reopen today, Friday, May 18 around 5 p.m.  Monday through Friday, May 21-25, Starkweather Avenue will have alternating one-way traffic from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
§   Beginning before 7 a.m. on Monday, May 21 Abbey Avenue will be reduced to a single lane of westbound traffic.  Eastbound Abbey motorists will be detoured over the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge and onto I-90 west toward Tremont where they may then exit onto W 14th Street.  The one-way condition will remain in place for about 120 days – or four months.  Between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. early Monday morning, motorists on Abbey may encounter slight delays as crews implement the work zone.  For more information on these improvements – including a map of the detour – click here
 
Gateway Impacts:
§   UPDATED!!  Monday through Thursday, May 21-24, the ramp from I-90 west to I-77 south will have a lane restriction from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
§   Monday through Friday, May 21-25, E 9th Street will have lane restrictions under I-90 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
§   Monday through Friday, May 21-25, the ramp from E 9th street to I-77 south may have intermittent closures between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily.
§   At the intersection of Carnegie & Ontario, lanes remain restricted on Carnegie Avenue. Minor work – including concrete median removal – will continue on Ontario, but will not affect rush hour traffic or special events.
