Tremont Impacts: Beginning at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, crews will begin removing steel over Abbey Avenue in Tremont. The roadway will be closed during this time and is expected to reopen no later than 7 p.m. on Friday, June 27. Motorists will be detoured via West 11th Street to Kenilworth Avenue to Willey Avenue to Columbus Road.
In addition to the work noted above, during the coming weeks crews will begin construction of the new overpasses to carry I-90 over both Starkweather and Kenilworth. Construction will begin with pile driving. This operation is permitted to take place from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., 7-days-a-week, however the contractor expects to work daylight hours only. Pile driving operations are NOT permitted nights. Details will be forthcoming.
