Attention Downtown Motorists:  Road work is nearly complete at the Carnegie/Ontario IntersectionOn Saturday, October 13, the intersection will be completely closed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. as crews perform paving operations.  Ontario traffic will be detoured via Huron or E 14th Street. Eastbound traffic on Carnegie (from the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge) will turn right onto Ontario/Orange. Westbound traffic on Carnegie will turn at E 9th Street. The exit ramp from I-90 east to Ontario Street will also be closed during this time.  Motorists will be detoured via E 9th Street.  This work is weather dependent.
Regional Interstate Impacts:
§   On Monday, October 15; Thursday, October 18; and Friday, October 19, the left lane of I-90 west will be closed between Abbey Avenue and the I-71 split from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day.
Downtown/Gateway District Impacts:
§   Monday through Friday, October 15-19, final paving, permanent striping and traffic signal detection loops will be installed throughout the Carnegie/Ontario Intersection. Traffic will be maintained with two lanes in each direction on Ontario through the week.  This work is weather dependent.  Lane restrictions on Carnegie will continue through the fall as work takes place on both the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge and Tri-C parking deck.
Tremont Impacts:
§   The Abbey Avenue bridge will reopen to two-way traffic before morning rush hour on Tuesday, October 16.
§   Friday and Saturday, October 19 and 20, crews will be milling and placing asphalt pavement on Abbey between W 19th Street and Gehring.  Two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers during these operations. The milling and paving work will also happen on University Rd, between W 13th and W 11th Streets, in front of Sokolowski’s University Inn. Access to and from the restaurant will be maintained at all times. This work is weather dependent.
