NEW!! On Wednesday, April 25, crews will begin mobilizing for work to renovate the Abbey Avenue Bridge. The initial steps will involve closing the sidewalk on the north (river) side of the bridge. All pedestrians will be detoured to use the south side of the bridge.
During these early preparations, motorists may encounter periods of time where traffic will be alternating one-way traffic, using temporary traffic signals or flaggers. These intermittent periods of one-way traffic may continue for the next few weeks.
The Abbey Avenue Bridge will be reduced to a single lane of westbound-only traffic, beginning in mid-May. The bridge will continue with a single westbound lane of traffic for approximately four (4) months.
