For a map of recent & upcoming changes, please log-on to www.Innerbelt.org and click on "Traffic Impacts." Remember... Opt for the Alternate! and use I-490 and I-77 to avoid the downtown construction. Highlights are below:

Gateway Impacts

  • Overnight Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16, crews will close the ramp from I-90 westbound to I-77 southbound from Midnight until 4 a.m. each night as crews demolish portions of the overhead bridges above the ramp. During ramp closures, motorists will be detoured via I-90 WB to I-71 SB to SR 176 SB to I-480 EB and back to I-77 SB. Additional nightly ramp closures are expected, details will be forthcoming.
  • Beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 15 and continuing through 6 a.m., Monday, July 18, crews will close E 14th Street AND E 9th Street under I-90 to demolish portions of the overhead bridges. Motorists may detour via Carnegie to Ontario.
  • Crews have completed work to add two southbound lanes to E 22nd Street between Carnegie Avenue and Cedar Avenue and the new lanes are open and in use.
  • Daily lane closures will be implemented on both E 14th and E 9th Streets under I-90.

Tremont Impacts

  • Daily, Starkweather Avenue will have one or both sidewalks closed during bridge deck demolition as crews work to widen the I-71 southbound bridge over Starkweather. During working hours, vehicular traffic will be alternated using a temporary signal that will allow traffic to move only one direction at a time. Both pedestrians and motorists may use Kenilworth to avoid delays.
  • Until approximately July 31, crews on behalf of the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District work to relocate an existing sewer in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood. Work is nearly complete, however minor operations remain. For more information, please contact NEORSD at 216.881.6600.
