The following work will impact regional interstates overnight Thursday, September 18. Work is necessary as crews move and remove barrier wall along the route. Closures will be in place from 8 p.m. Thursday, September 18 through 6 a.m. Friday, September 19:
Regional Interstate Impacts:
· I-77 south will be closed over I-490. Downtown ramps from Ontario, East 9th and East 30th/Orange Avenue will remain open for traffic entering I-77 south, but motorists will be detoured to I-490 west to SR 176 south to I-480 east to continue on I-77 south. The ramp from I-90 west to I-77 south will also be closed. I-90 west motorists bound for I-77 south will be detoured via I-90 west to I-71 south to SR 176 south to I-480 east to I-77 south. In addition, the left lane of I-77 north will close between I-490 and the East 30th Street exit ramp.
· I-71 north will be closed at the Metro Curve. I-71 north motorists will be detoured via I-490 east to I-77 north to reach downtown locations or continue on to I-90 east. In addition, the left lane of I-71 south will close at the I-90 split. Upon reopening, the merge point for I-71 north motorists heading onto the GVV Bridge will be located at the Clark Road overpass, approximately 1,500 feet south of its current location. This is necessary as crews move to another phase of the project and will be working in the left median area.
