The Memorial Day Weekend has historically had the highest number of serious injuries and the third-highest number of fatalities of all major holidays on Ohio roads between 2009-2013. While crews will NOT be performing any additional roadwork as part of the #GVVBridge project, motorists are reminded to "Click It or Ticket" this holiday weekend! The following work will take place during the coming week as part of the Voinovich Bridge project:
Regional Interstate Impacts:
Early Tuesday morning, May 26 from 2-4:30 a.m. crews will close the I-90 east ramp to the Innerbelt north at the I-490 east/I-71 south/SR 176 south split. Motorists should "Opt for the Alternate!" and use I-490 east to I-77 north to I-90 east and Downtown Cleveland locations.
NEW! Overnight Tuesday, May 26 crews will close the left lane of I-90 east at West 25th Street at 8:30 p.m. The right lane westbound will close two hours after the conclusion of Downtown events. Both will reopen by 6 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27.
CANCELED! Overnight Thursday, May 28 crews will perform several intermittent complete closures of I-90 east at West 25th Street between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. The road will be closed for a period of time then reopened to allow traffic to pass. Delays are anticipated. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes! Lane closures are also expected in the vicinity.
