Innerbelt Update
 
Attention Commuters: On Friday, April 20, Commercial Road will be closing at 8 p.m., between Central Viaduct Way (near Carnegie) and Canal Road.  Click here for more information about this closure and the available detours and alternate routes. Commercial road will remain closed until late in 2013, however beginning in early May, a new roadway called the “E 9th Street Extension” will provide more convenient access to the industrial Flats.  Be on the lookout for future details!
 
Each day, Monday through Friday, April 16-20, please expect the following:
Gateway Impacts:
§   Crews will be conducting paving operations on Orange Avenue and E 14th Street.  Delays are expected.  Orange Avenue will remain open with one lane in each direction.  On E 14th Street, motorists should expect occasional closures with detours to E 22nd Street.  Paving schedules may be adjusted for weather and to provide access during special events. 
§   Broadway Avenue, between E 14th and E 30th, will be limited to local access for U.S. Post Office traffic only during paving operations.
§   The ramps between E 14th Street and E 22nd Street (near St Vincent’s Charity Hospital) may be closed during paving operations. Motorists may detour via E 22nd Street.
§   Restrictions will be in place on E 9th and E 14th Streets under I-90, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
§   There may be intermittent closures of the E 9th Street ramp to I-77 south, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily.
§   Crews have reduced lanes at the intersection of Carnegie and Ontario.  The first phase of improvements should be complete by May 12.  Crews will return to the intersection to complete remaining segments in mid-July.
 
Tremont Impacts:
§   Kenilworth Avenue, under I-90, may have intermittent closures between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily.  Kenilworth will remain OPEN on Tuesday, April 17.
§   NEW!!  On Tuesday, April 17, Starkweather Avenue under I-90 will be closed between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.  Motorists may detour via Clark, Kenilworth or Fairfield.
