Overnight each night through Friday, April 1, crews will close E. 14th Street under the existing Innerbelt Bridge from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. each morning. Motorists will be detoured via E. 9th or E. 22nd Streets. Nightly lane closures on I-90 over E. 14th St. are also expected. On, or around, Tuesday, March 29 crews will begin pile driving operations to build the first pier of the new bridge on the east bank of the Flats region. A ceremonial groundbreaking will take place within the coming weeks. Pile driving operations will take place daily from about 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., five to six day each week. The pile driving operation may be described as a persistent and rhythmic, oftentimes loud, operation. Vibrations may be felt across the river valley. Until approximately late May, the I-90 westbound ramp to I-77 southbound is restricted as the ramp over E. 14th St. is rebuilt. The E. 21st Street ramp to I-77 southbound is closed through approximately 2016 and motorists are detoured via Carnegie Ave. to E. 14th or E. 22nd Streets where they may enter Orange Ave. and I-77 southbound. University Rd. is permanently closed along the west bank of the Cuyahoga River and motorists are rerouted via Scranton Rd. and Fairfield Ave. Tentative completion date: fall 2013.
**Crews on behalf of the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District work to relocate an existing interceptor sewer in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood. Both Abbey Ave. between W. 12th St. and W. 13th St. and W. 11th St. between University Rd. and Abbey Ave. are closed to vehicular traffic until the summer of 2011. In addition, W. 14th St., just south of Fairfield Ave., is restricted until mid-May 2011. For more information, please contact NEORSD at 216.881.6600.
