Interstate 77 Traffic Switch to Take Place this Weekend
I-77 southbound exit ramp to State Route 82 (Royalton Road) eastbound to close for 45 days
Garfield Heights (Friday, July 23, 2010) – Beginning overnight Friday, July 23, crews on behalf of the Ohio Department of Transportation will work to switch Interstate 77 traffic toward the inside lanes between Pleasant Valley and Oakes Roads.
As part of this work, beginning overnight Sunday, July 25, the I-77 southbound exit ramp to State Route 82 (Royalton Road) eastbound to close for 45 days or until mid-September. Motorists will be detoured via Miller Road. Details are below:
Overnight Friday, July 23:
- Crews will close the I-77 northbound exit ramps to both SR 82 and Wallings Road as well as close the SR 82 east and westbound and Wallings Road entrance ramps to I-77 northbound from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. in order to switch traffic in the northbound direction. Motorists will be detoured via adjacent ramps.
Overnight Sunday, July 25:
- Crews will close the I-77 southbound exit ramps to both SR 82 east and westbound and Wallings Road as well as close the SR 82 and Wallings Road entrance ramps to I-77 southbound from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. in order to switch traffic in the southbound direction. Motorists will be detoured via adjacent ramps.
- The I-77 southbound exit ramp to State Route 82 eastbound will remain closed for 45 days or until mid-September. Motorists will be detoured via Miller Road.
- Also overnight Sunday, crews will close the I-77 northbound exit ramp to Rockside Road and close the Rockside Road entrance ramp to I-77 southbound from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for pavement work.
