Lake County Rest Areas Open for Labor Day Weekend Travelers
Interstate 90 Rest Areas Back in Business
Garfield Heights (Monday, August 29, 2011) – In time for Labor Day weekend, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is pleased to announce the reopening of the rest areas along Interstate 90 in Lake County’s Concord Township.
Today, the barrels closing off the exits to the rest areas were removed and motorists began pulling off the Interstate to take a look and a break.
Visitors to the rest areas will be greeted by many energy efficient upgrades including, new plumbing, electrical wiring, energy efficient windows and doors along with new concrete floors, tile, bathroom fixtures, a HVAC system, roof covering and water lines. The renovations also included updating all buildings to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
These rest areas were closed November 15, 2010 to allow the Department to make these upgrades.
