Mayfield Road work to resume in Section 2
Today’s work postponed due to weather

March 26, 2009, Garfield Heights, OHDue to today’s poor weather conditions, crews have postponed that start of work on Mayfield Road in Section 2.  Crews will instead resume work shortly after the morning rush hour on Friday, March 27, 2009 between Golden Gate Plaza and Walmart Drive. Construction will take place on the north side of Mayfield Road.  Two lanes of traffic in each direction will be maintained on the south side of Mayfield Road.  All I-271 interchange ramps are expected to remain open, however changing traffic patterns at the I-271 ramps are expected.

In Section 3 between Walmart Drive and the eastern Mayfield Heights corporation limit and Section 2 between Golden Gate Plaza and Walmart Drive only minor operations remain.

The entire three-year project widens a portion and reconstructs Mayfield Road between Lander Road and the eastern Mayfield Heights corporation limit. 

The entire project is expected to be complete in September 2009.

Project Facts

Project:  Reconstruct 1.6 miles of US 322 by pavement replacement and widening and replacement of sanitary sewer.  Modification of existing cloverleaf interchange to provide signalized access to Mayfield Road.

Contractor:  Anthony Allega Cement Contractors Inc.

Bid Amount:  $17,445,312.31

Completion Date:  September 2009
