Mayfield Road work to resume in Section 1

Mayfield Heights

March 3, 2008, Garfield Heights, OH…On March 10, 2008 crews will resume work in Section 1 of Mayfield Road between Lander Road and Golden Gate Plaza. Construction will take place on the north side of Mayfield Road.  One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained on the south side of Mayfield Road.

Left turns continue to be permitted only at signalized intersections.

In Section 3 between Wal-Mart Drive and the eastern Mayfield Heights corporation limit, traffic has been shifted to the south side of the roadway.  Construction is expected to take place on the north side through the summer of 2008.

Major work in Section 2 between Golden Gate Plaza and Wal-Mart Drive is anticipated to begin in late 2008. 

The entire three-year project will widen a portion and reconstruct Mayfield Road between Lander Road and the eastern Mayfield Heights corporation limit. 

The entire project is expected to be complete in September 2009.

Project Facts

Project:                    Reconstruct 1.6 miles of US 322 by pavement replacement and widening and replacement of sanitary sewer.  Modification of existing cloverleaf interchange to provide signalized access to Mayfield Road.

Contractor:              Anthony Allega Cement Contractors Inc.

Bid Amount:            $17,445,312.31

Completion Date:    September 2009
