Mentor: Garfield Road closure over I-90 extended through mid-August
Closure is necessary for bridge deck overlay operations
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Thursday, June 22, 2017) – During the hydro demolition of the Garfield Road bridge deck, the
contractor found the bridge deck was in need of more work than originally
anticipated. Therefore, Garfield Road over I-90 - between SR 84 (Johnnycake Ridge Road) and Chillicothe Road will remain closed through mid-August in order to perform the extra work to the bridge deck and wearing surface. The bridge was not a danger for anyone driving across
it prior to the construction work beginning.
During the closure motorists will be detoured via SR 84 (Johnnycake Ridge Road), SR 615 (Center Street) and Chillicothe Road.
