GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Friday, May 30, 2014) – On Saturday, May 31 at 8 p.m. crews working on the I-77 bridge deck replacement project will close the I-77 southbound ramp to I-480 eastbound until noon Sunday, June 1 in order to implement a traffic pattern change. Motorists leaving downtown Cleveland on I-77 southbound destined for I-480 eastbound will be detoured via I-490 westbound to SR 176 southbound to I-480 eastbound. Other motorists will be detoured via Rockside Road to I-77 northbound to I-480 eastbound.
Also beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday, crews will close the right lane of I-77 southbound between SR 21 and I-480 and at midnight the right two lanes will be closed until noon Sunday, June 1 in order to implement the traffic pattern change.
The following Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) construction projects have updated work involving lane and/or ramp closures beginning Monday, June 2:
Boston Road over I-71 Bridge Maintenance, Strongsville
I-77 Bridge Deck Replacement over Cuyahoga River Valley, Independence and Cuyahoga Hts
U.S. 6/Detroit-Superior Bridge, Cleveland
U.S. Route 42 (Pearl Road) over Big Creek & NS Railroad, Cleveland
Larchmere Boulevard, Cleveland
West 76th Street Pedestrian Tunnel
Crews on behalf of ODOT will begin sidewalk repairs at the West 76th Street pedestrian tunnel on Monday, June 2. The top section of the ramp will be closed for approximately 2 weeks and pedestrians will only have access to the stairs.
