GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Friday, November 18, 2016) – After weeks of preparation, this weekend marks the official beginning of snow and ice season for the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). Beginning Saturday at noon, District 12 will staff 40 crews in Cuyahoga County and 11 crews in Lake County and Geauga County each for a total of 62 trucks to salt and clear any possible snow accumulation throughout the weekend.
Rain is expected to turn into snow showers Saturday which will continue into Sunday. Crews will not pretreat roads because of the weather’s transition from rain to snow.
As always, we remind everyone in “ice and snow… take it slow.”
