GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Friday, December 7, 2016) – A lake effect snow watch is in effect for multiple counties in northeast Ohio. Tonight, December 7, Ohio Department of Transportation District 12 will be fully staffed with nearly 80 trucks across Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga Counties.
Crews will begin pretreating roads this evening with salt brine in preparation for Thursday’s incoming snow. From then on, crews will work around the clock to salt and plow roads until the snow has passed and all routes are clear.
To prepare, we suggest that motorists take steps to get their vehicles ready for winter. Keeping an ice scraper in your car to clean off windows and lights, packing warms clothes and packing jumper cables and flares are all things motorists can do to make their travels safer in inclement weather.

As always, we remind everyone in “ice and snow… take it slow.”
