ODOT Public Meeting to discuss U.S.
322 (Mayfield Road) and
Auburn Road improvements in Munson Township

– The Ohio
Department of Transportation (ODOT) has completed a preliminary study for the improvements
at the intersection of U.S. 322 (Mayfield Road) and Auburn Road in Munson
Township. This intersection is ranked #19 in ODOT’s 2015 listings of rural
intersections with higher than predicated crash frequency locations and #5 for
rural intersections in Geauga County.
The project will improve safety by constructing an exclusive left turn lane on
all approaches and improve the signal head visibility.
The potential improvements may require right-of-way to be acquired, 1.4 acres
of tree removal and could affect three historic homes. One of which is on the
National Register of Historic Places.
