ODOT Cautions Drivers: Sunshine Does Not Mean Resume Speed

Ice and Snow...Take it Slow

Northeast Ohio (January 15, 2009) - With the very cold temperatures being reported across the state, ODOT winter work crews who have been working throughout the night and all morning long are currently experiencing a great number of areas where ice is forming.

Although the sun is shining, the air and roadway temperatures continue to be well below freezing. These are the very low temperatures and conditions that are most difficult to battle. Where a stretch of road may look clear, there could be a glaze of ice forming.

Best advice for drivers during such low temperatures: Ice and Snow…Take it Slow.
