ODOT & City of Berea to hold Public Meeting
Front Street grade separation project to be discussed

Why: During this meeting, experts from the Ohio Department of Transportation, City of Berea and contractor, Great Lakes Construction Company, will be on-hand to detail upcoming work related to the project and answer questions from the public.
On Monday, February 16, crews began pre-phase work to construct the nearly $18 million grade separation project to carry Front Street over the CSX and Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks and an access road in the city of Berea.
The complete closure of State Route 237 is expected on or around May 4, 2009. Access to driveways will be maintained throughout the length of the project however access points will vary as construction progresses.
Project: Project work calls for the reconstruction of 0.42 miles of existing State Route 237 (Front Street) by pavement replacement, widening and constructing new bridges over the CSX and Norfolk Southern train tracks, and over an access road. Also, 0.56 miles of Front Street will be repaired and resurfaced. New waterlines, sanitary sewers and storm sewers will be installed between North Rocky River Drive and Second Street. The intersections at Lou Groza Blvd. and Depot Street will be re-aligned into one intersection with new overhead signals. Decorative lights will be placed along Front Street north of Fourth Avenue.
