Crews on behalf of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) today completed work on the I-480 westbound exit ramp to W. 130th Street and reopened the ramp - 10 days earlier than expected. The ramp was originally closed on November 9 and was anticipated to remain closed through November 30 however work was completed over a week ahead of schedule.
Each ramp at the interchange has now been completed and additional closures are not anticipated. The $823,000 project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act improves badly deteriorated ramps at the interchange of I-480 and W. 130th Street in the cities of Brook Park and Cleveland.
I-90 Eastbound to Close Overnight Friday through Saturday Evening:
Beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, November 20 crews will close the eastbound lanes of I-90 over the Innerbelt Bridge in order to perform striping, fencing and barrier wall removal operations. The eastbound lanes will remain closed until 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 21. Motorists may detour via I-490 eastbound to I-77 northbound. The westbound lanes will remain open for use.
This phase of ODOT’s Innerbelt Bridge Safety Plan is part of the department’s $10 million investment on the Innerbelt Bridge. One lane of traffic in each direction - as well as the Ontario Street ramp to I-90 westbound and W. 14th Street ramp to I-90 eastbound– remain closed. Heavy truck traffic is detoured via I-77 and I-490. Closed lanes and ramps will remain closed until on or around November 30, 2009.
I-77 Lanes/Ramps to Close Overnight Friday:
Overnight Friday, November 20 crews will shift traffic away from the center median wall along I-77 southbound between Wallings and Rockside Roads. Beginning at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday, crews will close one lane of I-77 southbound as well as one lane of the I-480 ramp to I-77 southbound.
Crews will then close the Rockside Road entrance ramp to I-77 southbound, Pleasant Valley Road entrance ramp to I-77 southbound and I-77 southbound exit ramp to Pleasant Valley Road. Detours will be posted via adjacent ramps. Closures will remain in effect until approximately 6 a.m. the morning of Saturday, November 21.
