Crew members guide a large form across the project site last month. This form creates the “cap” or top section of the piers for the new eastbound #GVVBridge.
The following will take place this week as part of the #GVVBridge project:
Regional Interstate Impacts: Each night Tuesday-Friday, July 21-24, crews will close the following ramps from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will be working over these ramps to move fall protection materials as part of the I-71 bridge deck replacement over I-490.
· I-90 east ramp to the Innerbelt north. Opt for the Alt! Detour via I-490 east to I-77 north. **On Saturday July 25, this ramp will remain closed until 3 p.m.
· I-490 west ramp to I-71/SR 176 south. Use I-490 west to I-90 west to the West 41st Street exit. Reenter I-90 east to I-71 or SR 176.
· SR 176 north ramp to I-90 west. Use SR 176 north to I-490 east to Broadway Avenue. Reenter I-490 west to I-90 west.
East 9th Street is open to inbound traffic ONLY. Those who use East 9th outbound to access I-77 south should use East 14th Street instead. The East 9th Street ramp to I-90 west is OPEN. This one-way condition will remain until about mid-September. Click here for a map.
NEW!! On Wednesday, July 22 Fairfield Avenue will close between Scranton Road and West 14th Street from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. as crews pour concrete overhead. Use Kenilworth instead. Upon reopening, the roadway will be returned to its usual one-way westbound operation. This will remain through August 2015.
