Remainder of I-271 Southbound Express Lanes to Close Tomorrow
Mayfield Heights, Mayfield & Willoughby Hills
Garfield Heights, Ohio (Monday, July 19, 2010) – Beginning tomorrow morning, Tuesday, July 20, prior to the morning rush, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Shelly Company of Twinsburg will close the remaining portion of the I-271 southbound Express Lanes between White Road and U.S. 322 (Mayfield Road).
The portion of the I-271 southbound Express Lanes between I-90 and White Road was closed on July 14. After tomorrow, the entire length of the I-271 southbound Express Lanes will be closed until approximately early August 2010 as crews work to resurface the Express Lanes. Temporary single-lane closures on the I-271 southbound Local Lanes are expected, however impacts to rush hour traffic are not expected.
The I-271 northbound Express Lanes will remain open along with the I-271 north and southbound Local Lanes.
Once the southbound resurfacing is complete, crews will close the northbound Express Lanes and begin milling and paving. Details will be forthcoming.
The entire project is scheduled to be complete on, or around, October 15, 2010.
