(Wednesday, May 2, 2017) – Beginning Monday, May 14, crews will start work to
resurface Mayfield Rd. (U.S. 322) in Cleveland’s Little Italy neighborhood and a
portion of Chester Ave. near University Circle.
Rd. between Euclid Ave. (U.S. 20) and E. 126th St. will only be open
to westbound traffic
during construction. Eastbound motorists will be detoured via Euclid Ave. and
Superior Rd. to return to Mayfield Rd.
Chester Ave. will
be resurfaced between E. 93rd St. and Euclid Ave. Traffic will be
maintained with one lane in both directions, with lanes first shifted to the
north side of the roadway for work to take place on the southern half of the
project was bid to Karvo Companies for a cost of $1,638,898. The Mayfield Rd.
resurfacing is expected to be complete by July 2018 and the Chester Ave.
resurfacing is expected to be complete in October 2018.

to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and
executed by FHWA and ODOT.
