SR 176 southbound bridge work to begin Tuesday, April 17
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Wednesday, April 11, 2018) - Work to replace the SR 176 southbound bridge deck over I-71 southbound is set to begin Tuesday, April 17 with shoulder closures for perform preliminary pavement work.
Daily Tuesday, April 17 through Friday, April 20, crews will close the left or right shoulders on SR 176 south over I-71 from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pavement removal and replacement operations on each shoulder to accommodate the upcoming traffic shift.
During the week of April 22, crews will reduce SR 176 south over I-71 to one lane, which will be shifted on to the left side of the bridge as crews work to replace the right side of the bridge deck. During bridge demolition work, there will be various overnight lane closures on I-71 southbound. Those details will be forthcoming.
On Monday, April 23, the West 14th Street entrance ramp to SR 176 south will close through mid-August
in order to facilitate bridge deck removal and replacement operations. Motorists will be detoured via I-71 southbound to West 25th Street to Denison Avenue to SR 176 southbound. The entire project replaces the bridge deck and paints the structural steel on the SR 176 southbound bridge over I-71 southbound in the city of Cleveland. Work is expected to be complete in October 2018.
All work is weather permitting and dates may change. Updates will be sent out ahead of each phase change.
