State Route 2/Main Avenue Bridge Maintenance
(Last updated Thursday, September 20, 2018) - Phase I and 2 are complete. Both SR 2/Main Ave. east and westbound are in the Phase 3 configuration through late-September.
Overnight each night Monday, September 24 through Thursday, September
27, crews will close SR 2 east and westbound between W. 25th Street
and First Energy Stadium from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. in order to remove portable
barriers and complete joint seal work across all lanes. Motorists will be
detoured via W. 25th Street, Detroit-Superior and W. 3rd Street. When the bridge reopens each day, the left lane will remain closed in each direction until pavement marking operations are complete, weather permitting in early-October.
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Monday, April 2, 2018) - Maintenance on the State Route 2/Main Avenue Bridge will
require a single lane closure in both directions between W. 28th
Street and First Energy Stadium starting in April through fall 2018.
On Monday, April 16, crews began the first of three, six week phases of work to perform maintenance on the SR 2/Main Avenue Bridge.
Phase 3 (approximately late-July through September):
The left lane is closed on SR 2/Main Ave. Bridge east and westbound between First Energy Stadium and West 28th Street through September. No daily lane ramp closures will be implemented during this phase.
The West 28th Street entrance ramp to SR 2 east reopened on August 15.
All work is weather permitting
and dates may change. Updates will be sent out ahead of each phase change.
