Slope Stabilization on I-480 at SR 176 to Begin Monday
GARFIELD HEIGHTS (Friday, May 13, 2011) – During the week of May 16th, crews on behalf of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will work to correct a washout along I-480 eastbound at SR 176 (Jennings Freeway) that occurred following heavy rain overnight Thursday.
The Kokosing Construction Company will begin work on Monday, May 16 with a right shoulder closure in order to begin preparations for the repair.
Tuesday, May 17 through Friday, May 20, the right lane of I-480 eastbound at SR 176 (Jennings Freeway) will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as crews work to install a 12-inch pipe to improve drainage and apply a combination of rock and grout to help stabilize the area.
The washout occurred on Thursday, May 12 at approximately 6:30 p.m. and crews were forced to close the right two lanes of I-480 eastbound at SR 176 (Jennings Freeway) in order to remove debris from the roadway. All lanes were reopened around 1 a.m. on Friday, May 13.
