September 28, 2009, Garfield Heights, OH… Through approximately Sunday, October 4, weather permitting, crews on behalf of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will restrict traffic on SR 306 at SR 2 to one lane in each direction. This restriction is necessary as crews work to repair pavement in the vicinity. Delays are expected.
On SR 2, traffic in Stage One between Lost Nation Road and Newell Creek/SR 306 has been shifted on to the new SR 2 eastbound pavement.
Stevens Blvd. remains closed between Ben Hur Ave. and East 365th Street until approximately October 5 in order to perform a culvert installation. Motorists may detour via SR 91, Vine Street and Erie Street.
The SR 2 westbound exit ramp to Lost Nation Road and the Lost Nation Road north and southbound entrance ramps to SR 2 westbound remain closed until approximately mid-October. Motorists may detour via SR 306 and Vine Street.
In mid-October, crews will close the SR 2 westbound exit ramp to SR 306 for approximately 45 days.
Through the fall of 2009, the Vine Street eastbound entrance ramp to SR 2 westbound is closed. Motorists may detour via SR 91.
Through the fall of 2010, Lost Nation Road traffic will be maintained with one lane in each direction between Wood Road and Riverside Commons.
Reeves Road remains closed at Lost Nation Road and the detour is set utilizing Hurricane Drive.
Widening work in Stage Two between SR 91 and Stevens Blvd. will take place during the 2010 construction season and widening in Stage Three between Stevens Blvd. and Lost Nation Road will take place during the 2011 construction season. *Please note: Work between Stevens Boulevard and Lost Nation Road was originally intended to be completed during the 2010 construction season, however due to delays in securing structural steel for the Lost Nation Road bridge, stages two and three have been reversed.
The entire three-stage project rehabilitates SR 2 and adds a lane between SR 91 and Newell Creek/SR 306 and is expected to be completed in October 2011.
